Signature Talks
Bringing Your Full Self to the Table
When Marisa was cast on a reality television cooking competition, she was asked to create a dish that represented who she was. The challenge sparked a deeper question: How do we bring all of our experiences, identities, and traditions to the table?
Through stories, food-centered reflection, and guided exercises, participants will explore identity, belonging, and the experiences that shape them while discovering practical ways to show up more authentically.
Creativity as Tradition
What if creativity isn't a break from tradition, but one of the ways we keep it alive?
Through hands-on culinary exploration and guided discussion, participants discover how traditions are shaped, adapted, and carried forward. Using food as a lens, Marisa explores the balance between honoring what we've inherited and making it our own. Participants will leave with food for thought, practical inspiration, and something delicious to nosh on.
Starting Before You’re Ready: Lessons from a Sushi Chef
Marisa knew very little about sushi when she boarded a bus to California to attend sushi school. What followed was a journey filled with uncertainty, unexpected opportunities, and lessons learned along the way.
Through stories and interactive reflection, Marisa explores why confidence often follows action…not the other way around. Participants will leave inspired to take the next step and discover that readiness is often something we build, not something we wait for.
